Walked in Darkness

He walked in the dark for he feared the light.

He only came out in the darkness of night.

He never felt the warmth of the rising sun

As the moon sank in the west his day was done.

He roamed in the quiet of the night hidden in the shadows

Stalking through the wooded areas and roaming across the meadows.

He never saw the beauty of the sky as it turned blue

And all he knew of the air was the cold night breeze that blew.

His heart was calloused and his blood ran cold

Because he knew not of love for no love stories were ever told.

He couldn’t ascertain why his life seemed empty and hopeless.

He knew not that his life in itself was the source of unhappiness

Until one day he awoke in the day and was greeted by the sun.

He fell in love with the clouds, the blue sky and his heart was won.

He no longer wanted to roam through the loneliness of night.

Rejoice, my good friend for you have seen the light.

He had fallen in love.
