The day started like many summer days

Typical of summer in so many ways

A dark ominous cloud drew in from the southwest

It brought with wind and causing the trees to wave and twist

Then the cloud opened up and the rain came and fell

Soon forming puddles that quickly began to swell

The sky became darker and the rain continued everywhere

There were lightning flashes brightening the sky here and there

I watched out the window as the thunder announced the lightnings refrain

And the wind continued to blow the rain against the window pain

Soon the rain began to let up and the cloud moved to the east

Then came the most beautiful thing upon which my eyes could feast

As the rain waved goodbye the sky was ordained with a beautiful rainbow

A reminder sent by God so we would all know

Though rain may fall it is only one part of life’s arrangement

For God sent the rainbow with the rain as part of his agreement.
