it even takes longer for some to realize we depend on ourselves and by doing so become liberated from the whims of life ...

Right on Ron! When you think of it we are dependent on so many things, I wonder what it was like for the first people on earth who truly had to depend mostly on themselves. I really don't want to give up all we have, but I wonder if the simplicity of their lives made them happier, or do we just think so. Excellent write!

Quite true this write is...dependence is a part of the human condition, we seem to forget that not only are we dependent on drugs or alchohol or cigarettes etc, there is always the keyboard and TV and everything else that is our technology...(by the way, when I lose my keyboard, I just whistle, and it comes back running...;) Ed
