I had this feeling after something Janet Caldwell wrote...

Poem Artwork

Trickle

Got that trickle down feeling again.
It didn't leave me reelingly,
but it did leave me feeling,
that something isn't quite right.

Like when you wake up,
to nothing but the night.
Sure there was something,
that would give you fright.

But nothing is there,
it's just the air, nowhere,
everywhere and all around,
a sound without a voice.

Nothing to hear in my inner ear,
except the sound of silence.
And the incessant knocking,
over which I have no choice.

Of my worry, my creeping fear,
that I will outlive my years,
and my happiness will not,
hold back the tears of tomorrow.

The trickle will become a torrent,
and though I will abhor it,
the end will not come in calm,
but in terror and sorrow.

feelings of fear, the unknown but felt, very well done!

Brings back memories of me hiding in my basement, thinking I heard a massacre occurring upstairs...thought the family was shot dead! I waited for "the murderers" to leave, but "they" never did! I finally got enough nerve to investigate, after the third hour, consumed in fear...I saw everyone just sitting around the TV, intent in a movie. Found out that on the commercial my brother was trying to tickle my sister! I felt like a idiot! LOL!
Fear has an amazing affect on the searching through silent dark half sleeping person! :)

Thanks for sharing...hope it was just a "Trickle"
Love and Peace~

I've been feeling it sometimes too Ron and this is a write that will speak to the spirits of many. Inward peace is our only hope in such times. I hope we can learn to cultivate it. Well penned and truly dark.

Sounds like a nightmare more than a revelation.
hope you find some peace - it's the best gift we've been given.

A fine dark poem,which I hpe you don't really
feel this way. Fear can wear you out if you're not
alert to it. Find some poems that release fear, that
share hope.and serenity...

Love,
Eileen

Deep feeling with this, Ron. I can tell. Excellent capture of things that go bump in the night -- even if they are muted.
Best regards my friend,
Leland

a lament Ron -- but the trickle of which you speak, may well end in a torrent of joy my friend -- let the light of love be the beacon that leads you to peace and joy my dear friend -- Jon Michael
