Doesn’t hold a candle to the original by Louis Jordon

Poem Artwork

-A Lyrical Poem-

Let the good times roll,
this ain't no stroll,
let the good times roll.

You may be hungry, unhappy, and down and out,
but don't you let them, make that 10 count.

Get up, get out, and get on down,
don't you let them see, see you frown.

No job? No car? No house? No spouse?
Don't you let them see you cry, my my.

(Refrain)

It's time to get up and dance,
let them see you prance.

Do something kind, do something nice,
give your fellows some good advice.

Don't let the blues get you down,
track the good times like a hound.

(Refrain)

Remember the child in you,
and don't think twice.

You can still learn from this advice,
so grab yourself a great big slice.

Work is where you make it.
Learning's where you take it.

(Refrain)

Great write. You need to come up with music for this because now I have an old rock tune in my head that won't go away.

Remember the child in you,
and don't think twice.

One of the reasons why I'm not too upset when people say that I never grew up. Thank you for sharing this fine song, Ron. Love and peace,

Regis

Ron, I wish I were a musician -- I'd love to write the music for this song -- I personally believe that the theme music from the movie, "Hard Times", would compliment your lyrics -- you need to publish this now -- this song is most appropriate for the tumultuous times we are living in here in America -- I'll buy the first copy if you publish, and autograph the copy -- good stuff from your creative genius my friend -- peace and love -- Jon Michael
