Snowed

Silently, across the white,
miles and miles melt from sight.

As vistas come and vistas go,
all buried and muted by the flow.

We live with ease against the chill,
leaving no tracks for those who kill.

It's hard to explain the utter peace,
the blue sky's contrast fails to cease..

In the womb of nature's blinding freeze,
time stands still and the mind is released.

Crystallized into thoughts so clear,
gliding by as though as by ear.

While numbness sets in and delusions reveal,
secrets of the universe up too close not to feel.

With a brilliant opening up ahead,
into its doorway, we are sped.

A very wintery write, enjoyed reading it as it's still a result of a 30 inch snowfall outside my door, with rain today, and a little melting of the snow.

as the threshold beckons, and thoughts of once upon a then again ignite, it would be rare and yet still rarer to find a poem better fit to unite the spirits here this winter day that love to hear your fine word play... This is a compelling poem, calling me back to read it several times. Sometimes I felt as though I were plodding relentlessly through the snow; sometimes riding a speeding sled, on and on, experiencing each sight. It also makes one wonder what lies beyond the doorway.....
