Look for one in your personal space soon.

Drone

I will not drone on and bore you,
but I must implore you,
drones are in your future,
and that's no lie.

Drones will drone on,
like a boring song,
invading your space,
and your own private sky.

Google already knows,
precisely where you live,
but that's only from,
its satellite eye on high.

Drones can now fly,
like a helicopter hovering,
almost without a sound,
to sneak all around,
and take you down.

While a space jockey watches,
from 20,000 leagues away,
recording everything he sees,
for the great bye-and-bye.

With privacy lost,
Will there be a cost?
Will we ever be free,
from the anonymous pry?

From eyes on the prowl,
like a dog without a growl,
in your bathroom like a,
proverbial fly on the wall?

You'd better watch out,
you'd better not pout,
Uncle Sam knows your way.

He knows where you are,
he knows what you say,
he knows if you're good,
if bad, he'll hold you at bay.

So you'd better be good,
and let it all hang out,
so your Uncle will get bored,
with your drone and fly away.

Bravely addressing a disturbing issue, which is what people who write good poetry do. Move here to the Pacific Northwest rain forest.....Google Earth can not even find our house, nor could any drone get through the tangle....we are sooo in the trees!! Good lyrics, Ron. ~~ Diana

Ron, It sounds like sci fi but then it always comes true.

Quite a stark and real commentary on our "modern" world/society, Ron. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Well I have no worries I'm a boring sort of soul :)
They may drone on and become bored with me...

But, how wonderful about keen observation and what
will "drone" on about us...

Yes they are there, but surprisingly they are pretty easy to "take out", a high powered rifle will bring them down, at least thats what I've been told, don't want to anger Uncle Sam or they will be spying on my bathroom activities, or maybe they already do when I do take a poo...;-), ED

Unrequested unwanted surveillance is an ever present and increasing threat to one of the few personal liberties remaining to the average person, freedom of choice. Prying eyes observe from every corner of our society. From the proprietors shop we are tailed by silent sentinels in every neighborhood block onto the byways and highway where eyes pry from every elevated roadside pole and traffic light to the Kodak gang snapping photos of you with your elevated vehicle speed. So they may efficiently mail you a citation and the accompanying civil fine to fund the local bureaucracy. Leave the urban areas and head for the wide open country where you immediately come under federal surveillance whispering silently above monitoring every turn, mapping your daily routes to protect our nation from terrorists(?). As more and more stealth is employed by the freedom police we are left with almost no semblance of personal liberty. We have found no terrorist but we are keeping the average citizen under close surveillance. Wouldn't want them thinking they are free to do as they please. Your poem has this scenario interpreted perfectly Ron. I wish you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

I hope you're wrong but I know you're right - I seem them overhead once in a while. I'm trying to be as boring and invisible as possible. Thanks for the verse.
