Just spouting a few pet peeves about the way people drive…

Hurry

Ever been late, for a very important date?
March Hare, be aware, it's not too late.

There's nothing wrong with speed,
it's such an exhilarating need.
It's somewhat akin to greed.
So fast makes your nose bleed.

But what's all this unnecessary hurry?
Getting your fuss all in a flurry?

Do you race to the next stoplight?
Only to sit there fiddling and wait?
Instead, get on your cell phone and talk?
Oblivious to others racing out while you balk?

Do you honk your horn at the slow?
Are you always in a big hurry to go?

Rushing around in a furious pace,
as though you are in some human race,
trying to get to some distant place,
instead of enjoying what's right in your face.

Our hectic lifestyles require a composure,
but we plow through our life like a bulldozer.

Missing opportunity that calmness poses.
Not stopping to pick or to smell the roses.

So don't let the finer things pass you by,
because you are in a hurry and on-the-fly.
Slow down and relax, you won't be late.
Enjoy the world around you; you'll feel great.

So sad that many won't spare the time; even to have a good time!

WE'RE LIVING IN AN AGE WHERE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY HAS STIRRED UP A QUEST TO DO EVERYTHING...F-A-S-T. GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN ONE 'TAKES THE TIME'(EVEN FOR SAFETY'S SAKE)TO APPRECIATE THE WORLD THAT SURROUNDS THEM AND THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE WHEN DRIVING. TERRIFIC ADVISE, RONALD, DONE SO VERY WELL. I wonder if they would leave a little earlier if that would help? What's wrong with being polite? Road Rage............a killer.

Love ya!

My wife is always fussing at me for driving too fast, but I can't stand to just creep along. And I don't like it when someone honks for me to go when the light turns green. They would never do such a thing. When another driver does my niece that way, she usually sits there until the light turns yellow, then goes and leaves the car behind her sitting there, unable to go on. Also, I don't like for the car behind me to ride my tail. Makes me want to slam on my brakes, even at the expense of damaging my own car. Sounds like I'm a maniac at the wheel, but not so. I'm really a nice person who just wants the other driver to mind their own business, and I'll do my best to get to where I'm going, without having help from the other guy. Guess you struck a nerve on this one, Ron. Great write.

I set my cruise control at about sixty nine,
That is the speed I set that is oh so fine,
I try to remain in the right hand lane,
Until I come upon someone going much slower,
That is when other drivers rub against my grain,
Seems they are driving at the speed of a lawn mower,
And then & only then do I act too much asinine...:) -e-

I'm a street fighter while I'm under the wheel. Hate to get behind a creeper in the fast lane, and yup, I give him/her the business with the horn.

Here in Los Angeles we have what I call the sixty-fivers, the people who drive up and down the hills where I live at 65 mph, and the century club, those who weave in and out on the freeways at 100+.

Though never in a hurry,
I hate to be late.
It's the other people,
who hate to wait.

A timely poem and a good reminder that perhaps we should all slow down. Everyone is in such a rush to get where? They don't even know. Enjoyed this one. John

Quite right. Slowing down is good for us but for bunnies they have to be aloof. A timely reminder to slow down for us too.
