In a Rut

Ever felt like you were in a rut?

Tried to drive, but only putt?

Fell into a routine so totally ingrained,

that you wouldn't stop, when it rained?

The days turned into months, then years,

you didn't take time out, for even tears.

It seemed you were in a comfortable groove,

until the stylus hit a crack and you had to move.

The impeccable way you arranged your life,

with no give-and-take required for a husband/wife.

Relax and float downstream, my friend,

leaving that rut when old habits end.

You will be surprised what insights will come,

when you have deadly routine on the run.

So get off that merry-go-round before it's too late,

tune into the universe and you'll feel just great!

I agree. Sometimes, we need to leave people, places, and even jobs behind to find a new path in life. I did that with my writing.

You are so right, my friend! When we stop struggling, we will be able to float right down that stream! Great write, hon!

Love ya!

I don't hold grudges so I'm glad i'm not in a rut most of the time. I may be depressed but never in a rut.

Great advice though as most of us need to refresh ourselves.

Ha, ha, we all need to get out of our rut. Love the photo, they didn't have the latest technology, but they sure did take good photos. Good luck on the tour. Hope you don't find any new ruts.

I've been stuck in ruts,
and it ain't no fun.
From one to another,
those ruts are never done.

I've been in that damn rut, for years I don't say this to many people becase it sounds so off the wall to many people, but poetry saved my life. Whatever you have in mind to get yourself straight I hope with all my heart it will work out for you. By the way, I also hope you keep in touch with your friends here at Authors Den. Good luck, Ron.
