Relaxation

Having a particularly frustrating day with my computer locked up and being unable to hold the button in to hard shut it down and reboot it, finding buttons like on the computer, my thermostat, and my TV remote becoming nearly impossible to push. Siri and Alexa are not solutions and most voice operated systems require pressing a small button to turn the microphone on. I cannot do anything on a touchscreen either or hold a cell phone in my hand.

Relaxation

Time to cool off, relax and take my time,

let my spasming muscles unwind.

So many things now impossible to do,

I must come up with alternatives to.

There is no easy path to paralysis loss,

or aging for that matter, regardless of cost.

Only thing left is a comfortable position,

finding relaxation in finding transition.

To a new way of carrying on life's run,

trying to make obstacles into fun.

A task that is never ending it seems,

sometimes even entering nightly dreams.

But soldiering on is what I do well,

head above water with every incoming swell.

A task I've been given for nearly all my life,

a challenge to overcome frustration and strife.

I will just relax in the sun for a while,

my frustration flowing off shoulders with a smile.

I'll skip the half full glass of lemonade this time,

maybe put it in a poem next time to rhyme.

Ron,
Thoughtful and inspiring. I love your attitude toward the challenges.
Yes I agree with relaxing. If I am tense or agitated things takes longer and is no fun. If I walk away and relax then problems are solved much easier.

A great poem to remind all of us that our skills and time are limited, but we must all struggle onward. Good idea just to relax and take a breath. Thanks for posting, it is one of your best!

Forget lemonade, try some cheap California wine, drank from a brown bag & relaxation will come forth with little force...-e-

You are so strong the way you appear to be to others I often forget what obstacles you must be going through daily in your life. Your poem is a good reminder to us all to be more compassionate to others for everyone is fighting a battle of their own and we may not know it.

Take care and be safe, dear friend!

Bonjour Ron ! One can only hope against hope you have the necessary help around you to keep you going from strength to strength. Just don't give up... I know it's easy to say so, but what else can one say in your circumstances. As I told you on another occasion, I just feel hopelessly HELPLESS when it comes to you... And yet what you do, daily, on these pages makes me feel inapt and useless at the same time. Cheer up, Ron ! Everyone surely is rooting for you in all sincerity. BON COURAGE ! Every good wish. This has got to be one of your best and one feels all the heart-felt courage that you put to every task. You are a source of admiration for everyone, especially the readers here on AD. Soldier on indeed as we follow your example.

A VERY INSPIRING WORK, MY FRIEND. ALL OF US...EVERY HUMAN BEING ALIVE...HAVE OUR 'MOUNTAINS'; PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY, SPIRITUALLY ETC. TO WHICH YOUR METHOD OF 'OVERCOMING' CAN BE APPLIED. SO, IN FACT, YOU HAVE PENNED A 'SELF HELP' WORK THAT REMINDS US HOW GOOD THE EFFECT OF STOPPING... BREATHING AND RELAXING IS. CERTAINLY A EXCELLENT WAY TO KEEP IT ALL TOGETHER WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FALLING APART. I LOVE THE PART ABOUT DOING IT...IN THE SUN! SO GLAD THAT WITH THE WARMTH OF 'THE SON'(HAD TO GO THERE, RON)FRUSTRATION FLOWS OFF YOUR SHOULDERS AND YOU CAN SMILE. I DON'T WANT TO START PREACHING BUT I AM MORE THAN SURE THAT EVERY READER TODAY, TOMORROW OR YEARS FROM NOW WILL BE ABLE TO RELATE TO THE RELIEF YOU HAVE FELT IF THEY FOLLOW YOUR SUGGESTIONS. ALSO, WHATEVER WE ARE GOING THROUGH IT IS IMPORTANT, AS YOU SAID, TO REMEMBER OUR AGE AND THE(GUILTY WHISPER)'SWEETS' WHICH WILL WRECK HAVOC ON THE SENSITIVITY OF THE NERVE ENDINGS! YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL PURPOSE, RON...KEEP LOOKING UP, I AM PRAYING FOR YOU AND I LOVE YOU. MAY YOU BE ABUNDANTLY BLESSED WITH MORE AND MORE FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

The way to live, Ron. The way to live. God knows you've had more than your fair share of challenges. I admire your attitude. Keep smiling.
Have a blessed weekend:)

This free form style of expression suits you well, even though you are one of the very few who can render text in rhyme and not sink into the Hallmark syndrome of nonsense. I for one, appreciate you taking the time to share these kinds of moments with your reading audience, as it allows us to renew our trust in your ability to face vulnerability in the face and as you so perfectly put it: "...soldier on...head above warer with every incoming swell." You have proved over many years of reading your work and your sharing of vacations etc that you are truly a remarkable human, one we can all respect and love. Peace, my friend, and wishing you any all comforts your enriched mind and heart can render for you.
