I have been accused of being a Pollyanna. That's okay, but I'm a guy, an engineer. I am forever optimistic that we will solve our gravest problems because we have the ability to shape our future. We can make our future a living hell, or a heaven on earth. It is all up to us, our attitudes and abilities.

Pollyanna

Behind every cloud, there hides the sun,

behind every loss, a gain can be won.

For every cut, stitched will heal,

for every sickness, immunity will repeal.

For every ship that's lost at sea,

a ship may come in for you or me.

The greatest danger is still ahead,

if we put our heads to it, declare it dead.

We were not meant to conquer all,

the higher we get, the greater we fall.

Greed has no place in a glorious future,

blood flows freely without a good suture.

If your cup is half empty, and you wallow in it,

make it half-full in a New York minute.

For there is always a sunny side up,

to a gloomy side down.

Start every day with a smile,

not an ugly frown.

The future is better, because we can make it so.

So make up your mind, which way will you go?

(smile) you sure know how to male me turn my lips upward in a smile Ron. No matter how bleak things look, I always turn to hope for a constant companion. I am sure you do too. We need to encourage each other every step of the way Thank you for sharing your talented pen tonight. Sending you prayers for a healing life, and a restored world order, I know its a tall one, but who knows, we may one day all get our wish. Good night.

A steller write, reminding us all that whenever the dark side makes it presence known, know that it is there to teach one that there is a light side, for once one begins accepting that life and its creation was always meant to be addressed as a paradox, the essence of your poem can be not only understood, but embraced, used, and appreciated as the way it is. Of course, this is but one man's interpretation of this finely written poetic proclamation. I could be wrong... but I won't admit it.

This was a fun poem. Keeping ourselves open to positive possibilities makes it easier to push ahead with a new plan and get beyond our difficulties. These days, life is throwing many challenges at us. Keep hope alive!

Such a hope-filled write, Ron. Much needed balm for these unsettling times. Nice rhyming couplets, by the way. Peace and best wishes to you,
