Let's stop all of the conspiracies and hatred and focus on what is really needed for us all to be happy and healthy. Our earth depends on it. And we depend more than we know, on our earth.

Appreciation

To all the poets gone before,

dreamers, schemers galore,

the ones who have made their mark,

bringing human history to fore.

It's on the shoulders of giants,

that we know, what we know.

For without their courage and fortitude,

civilization would never grow.

We would still be savage beasts,

fighting for every bit of gain.

Guarding our territory fiercely,

trusting the gods to ease pain.

We would be fearing many things,

that we do not fear anymore.

Those gods we thought would protect us,

were superstitions, nothing more.

But we loved our land and lore,

did not waste scar or score.

We had to live there forever,

our home and nest, nothing more.

So, let's appreciate those who were right,

and stop following those who are wrong.

The greedy and the exploitive ones,

constantly leading astray their throng.

It's time to re-examine what we've learned.

It's at the touch of the Google science search.

The encyclopedia of the truth we know,

and not the hollow promises that besmirch.

GREAT WRITE RON. You said it all with in lines of the poem. Poetry lets one express ones feelings in unique ways. The reader can asorb and reflect on the words written and shared by the writer. Some reach a much higher status and become well known. Some are satisified in having their works read by others. I TOTALLY AGREE ,,GOGGLE IS REALLY GREAT!

I AGREE, RONALD! IT IS TIME WE APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AND HOW FAR WE HAVE COME, INDEED...AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT WHAT WE DON'T HAVE. A SEARCH FOR WHAT IS 'RIGHT' AND VEERING AWAY FROM WHAT IS 'WRONG' IS NEEDED. AND HOW DO WE DO THIS? WELL, YOUR PRESENTATION IMAGE IS THOROUGH, FOR ...ALL ANSWERS ARE FOUND IN THE VERY HEART OF GOD. AND WE PRAY...! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

All it took was your introductory sentence for me to say, "Yes!" That's exactly true. We can achieve so much good. I am not exactly in agreement with the Google science search, but I do get your point that we need to investigate for ourselves and think for ourselves. Appreciate the human journey and all those who have done great things for the good of all and the health of the planet. See where we've been, where we are, and where we need to go. A reset. Thank you!

I am with you up until the last stanza where you mention "the touch of the Google science search" as "the encyclopedia of the truth we know." Just because it is in Google science doesn't necessarily mean it is "the truth". After all, millions of people, scientists included, believe in the "theory of evolution" even though it is still a theory and have never been conclusively proven as a fact. Modern science also has its "articles of faith", this being one of them.
