Out into the rain before dawn, peace flowed over me
As the warm, soft, spring rain caressed my cheeks
Its pattering a soothing chorus on the barn’s tin roof
Music to my ears as I cleaned the horse’s stalls
The softness rumbled into a light and sound show
As Zeus threw bolts of lightning across the once dark sky
And the hoof beats of Pegasus rumbled north to south
My nervous horses spooked, but my spirit leapt for joy
The brief storm ended, its inspiration soon lost
As grey bottomed thunderheads drifted slowly over the crags
Of the majesty of our Wasatch Mountains
And melted into clear, blue skies
karen! the way you expressed the scenery is truly excellent, mike
