about a girl i taught whos tragic story continues in the next post

How sad you are, little girl

Somewhere behind those eyes

Lies the truth

Can you just be well enough to

Tell someone, anyone?

Your mother left you, and your dad,

Well, I don’t know about him

You pay the price

With tears, with angst, with craziness

Anything to make the days go by

Out of control, no longer with anyone

An imagined mother,

Takes the place of the one who left you

A way to be nurtured

You must do it yourself

So very, very lost

Little girl

How deeply you feel the loneliness. My step daughter lost her mom at fourteen...at that mommentI lay with a broken heart in a hospital waiting for a life-saving heart transplant. I am told she just crumbled in a corner of the the cold, empty housem, that once was her happy secure home. DESERTED, ALONE, BUT NOT HELPLESS.Today she is a talented model, mother of one, and a wife to a man that cares.

I wish I could hug that little girl in your poem..just say you are never alone and loved.

Good write. From your heart.

The human mind can take just so much and then it shuts down.

It is always cathartic to open up and communicate with others about these kinds of things. Holding emotions in like this can result in alcoholism and drug addiction, sexual perversion, and a host of other conditions that make life a kind of living torture. I taught my children how to communicate - their generation does not do so willingly!
