Lies and Excrement
They are lost children, vulnerable,
But not so innocent.
For that has been stripped away.
They are not kids of three or eight or sixteen years,
But anywhere between twenty-one and thirty plus,
Lost and searching,
Stumbling and bumbling along,
Looking for the one they wanted to be,
Or could have been,
Or imagined themselves to be.
So they are lost in the oblivion,
And the lies and the excrement,
That the world of drug addiction offers.
