Chuffed to bits at each and every one
“Bonny lads” for sure, he’d say it with glee
I know that for sure – he even said it to me
What would my dad do if he saw his Grand girls
His eyes would smile widely at their long flowing curls
“Bonny lasses” both, the proud granda would say
A right Geordie greeting, he’d say it that way
So what would my dad say as he saw it unfold
His son go through life sometimes meek sometimes bold
