Poetic Home -- Not for Rent (Jill's Challenge)

Here I go breaking the rules. This is my answer to Jill Eisnaugle's challenge. Sorry, Jill, just can't do it.

POETIC HOME -- NOT FOR RENT

There is a land within my soul
where words and phrases freely roam;
where lofty thoughts and fleeting dreams
inhabit my poetic home.
How can I tell to you its charm,
this rhythmic place so dear to me?
or how I knew upon a glance
this home was where I yearned to be?

This home of mine, though small in size,
hosts lovely visions still undreamt;
when I but lift my pen to write,
my world's at peace; I am content.
Just one thing more is my desire,
to find like-minded friends so rare,
to meet in my poetic home
and all its rhyme and meter share.

So happy here am I, my dears,
I cannot bear to move again;
You may rent just a single room,
or build your home on Authors' Den!

"HOME is where the HEART is!"

Beautifully written with heartfelt feelings. The first two sentences really captured my attention and makes me wonder how many authors/poets these words describe. Great write.

How creative my friend, loved this twist on Jill's challenge. It was a fun challenge...I ended up writing two! Can't wait for the next one to come along! Enjoyed this much!

Love the way you kept your home your own but offered to share it's treasures, also the way you tied it into the den... high score for this one.

Cleverly penned - sounds like a wonderful place to be. And it is - feels like home whenever I visit - well done. :)

How much for that room? And do you allow dogs? Excellent write. You have a natural rhythm and timing in your writing that is innate. Loved your poem. Liz

Did your own thing, Congrats for doing it and being brave enough to go against the rules. Doesn't hurt a thing. Words expressed by you are the sure thing. Always glad to read your writes. **********

Connie,
You may have "changed the rules" but I love it! I love my poetic home too much to ever up and leave it; that's for sure. I came close once and a sad twist of fate kept me writing. I took that as a sign that my pen should never leave me.
Thanks for thinking outside the box on this one and for adding your addition to the challenge! This has been a fun one.

Great job, my sis. I could picture all of it. Loved this. This home of mine, though small in size, hosts lovely visions still undreamt; when I but lift my pen to write, my world's at peace; I am content.

I think you are for you have all you love and you have a special relationship with your father. Love ya, Bonnie
