All the kids wanted to get a ride on Laurie's horse, Sarge, when she brought him to our picnic.

Giddyap, Horsie!  But don't go too fast--

'Cause I want my ride to last and last!

My horse is so big; his back is so high--

I think I can ALMOST reach the sky!

It's kind of scary so far from the ground;

Easy, Boy, easy-- now let's turn around.

I wish that I had a horse like YOU--

I'd ride from morning 'til the day was through!

Adorable write, Connie; enjoyed this one! (I once rode a horse at a Christmas party; my legs were stuck out sideways when I sat upon its back; my legs and hips throbbed with pain for three days! *OW* LOL)

i like this one...wish that all the world of children could grow up with a horse. the learning foundation of caring, trust, responsibility and unconditional love stay with them for a lifetime...wonderful poem...thanks patmedlin

Remember that experience when I let my kids have their first pony ride and the expression on their faces of wonderment. Well done.
