Mosquitoes fed, mice hosted,
Wildlife ogled, bears confronted,
Wild meat delectably roasted,
Wiley walleye softly hunted.

Sights seen, but never again,
So, if it’s adventure for thee,

Ah, the great American "wilderness". ;) Nicely penned. Short & tasty, the way I like it.

(smile) Ever clever at "marketing" your "wares"... but let's not forget these words at hand, which I found dearly delightful. Your alliteration is playful and perfect, Leland! Nature cannot avoid your marvelous pen. I love the first verse here, especially. "wiley walleye", indeed! I repeat, you are ever clever! katy xox. p.s. I shall find your 'treats' and read. thanks.

Sounds delightful, except for the Mosquitoes, but they too have their place. Very creative.

"The land of the trembling earth."
Your poem reminds me of a canoe trip I took into the bowels of the great Okeefenokee Swamp. I had an eerie but beautiful conversation with mother nature that day. This poem is why mother nature has the power she has and why we respect her need to diversify this earth.
