Innocent little white sticks to look at...until you pick them up and put a match to them. Ah Kimmy, I empathize. One of my brothers was a smoker. While he smoked, he was slender. Then he decided to quit. When I saw him after about ten years, I couldn't believe my eyes. He was quite a pudding! :) Anyway, joking aside, I hope you are successful in giving those things a swift kick in the butt.

A smoker, huh ... yeah, quitting is the worst. It's the hardest thing in the world to do -- the butts grab you by the short hairs and hang on tight. Excellent ode to the little devils!

Wow..what a great write, very deep and thought provoking indeed. An excellent timely write, the wages of war weighs heavy upon the minds and hearts of many, while others seem to take it lightly and unconcerned...sad but true.

This line - as with other parts of this write - is thoroughly sibylline in nature.

The way your mind extrapolates and exhales imagery is superbly unique Kimmy. You piece together disparate elements quite effectively to create a unique and assimilable thought process. I see that your daughter reviews her mommies work too. What a blessing that is!

Kimmy this write shows the inevitabiliy of war and though I hate the thought I believe that there will always be war as long as man walks this planet. There was war in the caveman days when clubs across the back of a neighbours head entitled you to your neighbours wive, there were wars when Jesus walked the land and preached love and peace as the Romans murdered the pagans, there was war in the middle ages when the church murdered millions in the crusades....I could go on but I think I have made my point even if it is one that makes me sad to even contemplate. This poem of yours is a strong statement of what Man seems to understand all too well.
