I love by the author, the use of stranger words, stranger imaginery and over all the constant renewing of that world where fantasies are entangled with reality and dreams in a psychidelic mery-go-around.

who, what, when, where and why, anyway if God layed it out in the Bible and people still don't understand love, the lawyer still loses his case. some people are going to only understand what they want to understand regardless of how it's layed out. It's a very selfish irrational world

All understand the meaning of 'the word'? Reminds me of the Beatles' song, The Word, with the line, 'Say the word and you'll be free,' never knew what this word was. Even Pilate was baffled to know what the word was!
And we don't necessarily need a Sanskrit book to tell us. The cardinal could simply utter, 'sin' as a clue to undertanding the world in one word - fallen.
