I finally got to NY NY...

At 51 I finally went
To the city I've
Always wanted to see
NY NY is the city
I've longed for
Now, there I've been
And there I've seen

Ground zero and cried
The statue, beauty tried
And true the Wall St. bull
Of food, I had my yummy fill

I always wanted to
Go to this place
It took my sons
To get me in that space

Their band played gigs
In the big apple
Manhatten's hip clubs
Were where they dappled

With their alternative
Rock music songs
They made me proud
And so thankful to be
Along...

I go within 30 miles each day of NYC but rarely go in anymore, after losing my wife on 9/11 there, the city holds a cold power over me, it scares me, but it is a fun place to be for others, glad you enjoyed your trip...good luck to your sons and their band...Ed & Rufuz

It's something, ain't it. I now live outside it after growing up far away from it. It's strange now to see places I see all the time in TV shows and movies. Groovy poem. Congrats to you and your sons. Glad you made it here and back safely.
