This is the season both of my parent left this earthly home.

Rojoice Together!

Yes Mama, I still remember.

You are preparing for your day.

I remember the powder puff, your splash of toilette water.

The wash pan and pitcher of water on the bedroom dresser.

The slop jar in the corner with a sweet aroma from the night before, waiting to give you your final chance before pulling the tight girdle up.

Yes Daddy,  I still remember.

You are preparing for your day.

You have been up a while to  milk, feed and tend the animals to pasture.

I remember the razor strap, the blade singing as you swiped back and forth, and the scent of the soap foam in the wooden carved mug; a brush on the side of the bottle of witch hazel for your complexion.

You liked to be clean shaven with a gentleman's haircut.

~~~~~
Yes, I remember the day
you each left this earth.
We rejoice while we wait for
the day we will be together again.  To see Jesus    Together!
Rejoice, Rejoice, Rejoice!
The love you had planned, now you know is in God's hand. You will always be together.
All the time,
Your predestined, eternal plan is yet in the Hands of God.
You live.  You are talked about and will always  be loved and remembered.
Ah Louisa, this one brough tears to my eyes. A beautiful write in honour of your beloved parents. Your rejoicing at their arriving at their expected destination is comforting. Yes, one day, you will see each other again. Praise the Lord!
God Bless
Love and hugs
What an absorbing poem you wrote, Louisa; it brings the whole atmosphere together in a wonderfully accomplished way, like perfect photograph.
Such a powerful poem my friend, your imagery is amazing! You've brought back memories of my childhood when I spent the weekend with my mamaw and papaw. The slop jar in the corner, the pitcher and bowl on the dressor, and tending the cattle early. Much like the life of my grandparents, they await for me with you parents and a big family reunion when our family circle will be reunited again. Enjoyed this so very much my friend! Beautiful!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
