Once I Wished
Once I wished upon a star,
that love was kind and beautiful.
That dreams inside the looking glass,
were very real and tangible.
And underneath my young barefeet,
the grass was soft,
and bright,
and green.
That love was such a simple tale,
that he was true
and knew my soul.
Now my feet are young no more,
and I know grass just lasts a spell,
and glass gets shattered on the floor,
in pieces irrepairable.
A broken piece,
a falling star,
a soul-mate yet
to enter in.
So I will walk
the fields alone,
in sunsets really meant to share,
crying to my soul-mate,
'are you there?'
RUINS
Please leave me here!
Amongst the ruins
of castles that used to touch the sky!
Amongst the thistle,
hard and brittle,
so I may leave myself to die.
Where dreams of a king,
so grand and noble
touched this very heart of mine.
A queen was I,
and his, his only,
we filled our days with love so fine.
But dreams, like clouds,
go drifting slowly,
all too high for me to touch
And all thats left,
translucent vapors,
and pain that hurts
so very much.
Will I find answers
while I'm sleeping?
Will the pain be gone,
when I awake?
I'll remain dormant,
never rising,
if only for
my own hearts sake.
REMEMBER
Remember when he loved you?
The sky was bluer, wasn't it?
Didn't everything taste better, feel better?
Remember how easy it was to smile?
Remember when you woke up one day,
and he was gone?
Isn't everything bitter now?
Don't you find yourself dying inside- as you smile?
Don't you wish he could see
the broken pieces he left behind?
Do you remember when he loved you?

Your use of line breaks and metaphors are great. I am glad that you got back to your first love, writing. Very nice. BTW, any kin to Jackson Pollack? A most interesting man.
You evoke memories so well.
