From this piece, I was inspired to write my blog entry, Keep Trying...

What happens when
We’re steadfast and true
While life’s toils and snares
Abound in our view?

Is it so wrong
To run for escape
When trouble appears
To loom in our way?

I’d rather think not!
Believe that instead
Running is cautious,
Perceptive, Well-read

I think though it might
Be good to be true --
To have staying power
Can hone and prune you.

When I sought fast fleet
To escape pain each one
I never left home
And missed all life’s fun

But when I toiled through
Stayed to the end yet
I learned quite a bit
And missed life’s payback

So I sense there’s merit
To sticking true blue
It shapes rock-hard character--
Invents us anew.
