Try to vision and think your friend as sober as often as you can. It is prayer with the end result its intent.

What a great friend you are. If we try to help a butterfly from its cacoon it dies.. But we can show guide posts rather than flags.. In-

Hope it helps, but addition can be full of illusions to the one dealing with it. He/she will need to face the demon, accept that it is happening and then move on. Not easy and can take many years of self destruction.

This poem signifies an addict's hopeless refrain.This is really profound and beautifully written. I liked it a lot. Especially, the last paragraph: 'Devouring…eating from the inside out…
leaving an empty hollow vial,
where only vicious evil thoughts remain,
let loose of the hate…so finally peace you can gain.'

OMG I know this so well...living with an alcoholic NOT easy to do...and only he can make the choice whether he wants to be helped!!

That demon is destroying not only him but his whole family!!

I shared a poem like this once with my hubby and almost got killed by him....and he smashed my PC to pieces!!

I guess I gave up trying to save him...the ball is in his hands!!
