Until There Was You

Perhaps if i would of
said that i loved you
You still would of been
here today.


Oh how i feared to
disclose my feelings.
For in the past i have
been deeply betrayed.


I realize this was
all so unfair to you.
Allowing my past to
interfer with the present.


For now i lost the best
thing that i ever had.
That dreadful day when
i lost you.


Never had i known
a love so true .
Nor have i ever known
such happiness.


So many things in life
i never quite understood.
Until that wonderful
day when there was you.


Now you are forever gone,
and loneliness is left
here with me.


The ironic part of it all
is that i did love you
all along.

Regret sucks. You capture the what if very well. Was there a pursose behind the little i. I must ask because I am a poor guesser.
