No Longer At My Side

After all of this time
I am still so deeply
in love with you.

You are constantly
on my mind,
I guess there is no
getting over you.

Yet my heart still
yearn's to be with you
Although I shall never
understand why.

For you have deeply
broken my heart in two
The day when you smiled
and said "goodbye".

Never would i be
able to forgive you.
For the way that
you hurt me so.

Although i may still
be in love with you.
However i must admit
that i do love myself
even more.

So silently i shall
go on hurting.
For the one thing that
i do have is my pride.

The world will continue
to go on turning.
Even though you are
no longer at my side.

Hi Trixie:

This is so good. This is a well-balanced love and longing for something and then throw in the self-respect at the very end. I love this a lot. You are a very creative writer!

Bring forth, beloved bereft ye be
One still moment, in eternity.
A picture much deeper than the face you see.
For the wait, and the weight,
And the way it must be,
God bless you darlin.
