This gypsy moth was rare

a solo soul with flair

she had no mate

wanted none
her focus was
towards the sun

until one day

she was pursued

by a mystery moth
she came unglued

he was so dashing
she lost her heart
his wit and charm
she could not depart

They became so close

an inseparable pair
soaring realms in the air

she was so mesmerized
seeing  through his eyes
when he began to stay away
she believed what he'd say

he became so secretive
but kept in touch
keeping her hoping
knowing she cared much

his visits became so rare
it was hard not to despair
he would always say

"soon, wait for me"
she would wait by
their favorite tree

he never came

but she's still there

she died waiting

in the frosty air

etw

This is real dedication to wait for a lover. Some wait and wait and wait ... and really it is all in their mind that the moth will light again. Those wings were attached to our nature species for a reason, to give flight and move on. Such a touching metaphor, Eileen.

Cool but kind of Sad Eileen. I guess most of us will die waiting for something, gold or love and beat goes on p&l out

amazing picture. I like the way you write about this common situation. Moths are delicate creatures and so are we, but we won't admit it. This is where unrequited love will get you----dead. Excellent write, Eileen.

This is so sad Eileen, do we humans mimic nature or does nature mimic us? Love and peace to you...

Are moths that cruel too or is it an overactive imagination working tonite. get your rest damn it.

This was very amzing and touching. it is unny and sad that some people do die waiting or that love that never comes or comes back. I am so glad that God is in my life and now i no longer feel alone. We all wish that someone on earth could love us but sometimes it is just not so. Great read.

Men are such assh***s!!! LOL Not all men fit this bill, of course, but I have known many; not that I waited for any of them, but if they had their way, I would have been sitting by the phone, dressed to kill, hoping tonight would be the night they would show up or call. There are pleanty of good men out there, no point in hanging around waiting on a jerk. Good job on this one, Eileen.
Take care,
Sherry

Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do, Eileen. This reminds me of a short skit Carol Burnette did when she was "waiting for her man" to come and fetch her. She grew old sitting in that rocker. Lot of reality-based stuff here.

Men! They don't want you but they don't want you to have anyone else either! I think its time for her to return to her true desires :-) Of course we are talking about the moth :-)
