I'm amazed how in days so sweet
When I would kneel at your feet
Closely making sure I caught
Life's lessons that you taught
Not for one moment did I ever think
Our world would be brought to the brink

But as years went by, I came to know
Our world is not a one man show
With so many other diversified nations
Billions of people all different opinions
Too much disparity causing discontent
Injustice and hate no thoughts to repent

Leaders all staying pat with the status quo
No efforts made to help humanity grow
Politics and religion the only game in town
Lies and laws flaunted bring nations down
Humanity focused on eat drink be merry
Crying what happened, things now so dreary

Now when I reflect on how we believe
Bible tales of war from cover to cover
I'm seeking help that I may discover
How humanity can find a way of reprieve
Is there no way we can replace hate with love
I'm hoping the world will seek the fountain from above

Peter has me wondering what's going to happen in 2012. Excellent poem, Eileen. If everyone believed like you and I (and some others) maybe there would be love and peace. But Christians can do some might stupid things, speaking of Mel Gibson... Really enjoyed this Dear Friend, Janet xxxxoooo

Eileen, this is truely a lament for reason and humanity, but I fear that the words fall on too many deaf ears who think people like you and me are of no real value, only money, oil and power matter to them. Well written and expressed

With the heat you have experienced as well as what the east coast is getting now, we all need to seek a bit of that fountain from above...cooling & faithful spiritual waters, Ed

So well stated, Eileen. I feel that if each of us do or show as many kindnesses that we can each day, goodness will prevail. When will leaders realize that wars don't really accomplish anything?

A wise man once told me that 'It is not hate which precipitates war..it is the failure to accept it as such' It took me many years to understand those words and I think finally as the events of today unfold I am beginning to truly see his wisdom. Your words are right on and give us much to ponder.

I recalled, as I read this Eileen, the story of Noah. How for 120 years he preached of a coming disaster of water that was never before experienced in history.

He was a voice in the wilderness preaching daily on the the need for people to reach up and "get right" with their Creator. No one listened, all danced, caroused and reveled in their own wanton lusts and pursuits until the day came when the door was shut, and it started to rain. Too late bucko!

Such is the mindset of many today.

Keep wielding your sword ...

Let's hope others read the message in this poem and yes do something about it. Seek the spirtual ..in doing so "justice and patience prepare the spirit" and lets hope some enlightenment can be achieved.

Amen. There comes a time when earthly measures fall so short. We have evil in our midst. I am reading "Jerusalem Countdown," by John Hagee. I am finding out things I never knew about a lot of things. I got it online from Wal Mart. Nine bucks. Well spent.

Great write sis, but as the days of Lot: they ate drank married and life went on, never looking up to see their decadence or need to repent. So it was and so it is, today!
