I wondered if the elements fought
Over which would start the show
March arrives and spring is wrought
Will it be rain, hail, or snow

The wind must be part of the mix
It waits in the wings to see
Gale, zephyr, it takes a fix
Hoping for a tempest, with glee

A gentle rain with just a breeze
Soon turns to hail then snow
Weird extremes causes freeze
While making  traffic  slow

Nature versus humanity unfair war
I hear wind laughing, rain dancing
I'm knocked about like a bumper car
Over my head reindeer are prancing

Until of course the rain turns to ice
Then I'm slip sliding like on ski's
Just when I  think it's kinda nice
I skid out of control smashing trees

Enough of this stormy spring affair
Where weather is always the star
Going home with windblown hair
Being towed in my crippled car

etw

Note: The accident (not serious)
happened years ago, the poem
is now, after seeing the weather
in the mid-west where I used to live.

Eileen,

We definitely are no match for the elements.

*whew*, the weather is wild all over the country. Especially in Texas--after weeks of no rain, we're getting it now, and severe t-storms will be in the offing Wednesday night through Thursday evening--here we go again!! Glad you're okay, you pen a convincing tale. The weather--she is fickle!! LOL Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, and prayers, Karla.

And yet, some still think we can best Mother Nature, but I don't think we ever will.

this conjurs up some mid-west memories for me too....skidding out on the Kennedy expressway heading out to the suburbs for an easter dinner...no-one expected snow that day, I didn't even have a coat with me...that's when you look at the sky and say "why"?

I don't miss the snow either.
Air-conditioning is as cool as I want to be, especially after watching the weather back east this past winter.
Cute poem.

Blimey... looks bad enough to me, Eileen! But thankfully there was enough steel there to cushion the impacts, perhaps. Yep, the weather continues to shake, rattle and roll us over and ESPECIALLY so when it thinks we have just packed away the thermals. Like you, I would rather experience warm ones in my hair than woolly ones under clothes! Stay safe, warm and dreaming of better days... or creating them! LOL Kate xx
