Right to the point! Certainly is not pleasant anymore, too much anger, hatred, jealously. These are not God's way, it seems that the devil has unleashed his wrath and there does not seem to be any stopping of it. I pray God will show mercy and put an end to all this insanity that has run amok in our midst.

Excellent write, Eileen; man has a choice to follow God or follow evil. Most take the broad road that leads to destruction. I really like how you said that you pray that you are not corrupt. We could learn a lesson, right there: would that more would fall on their knees and repent and turn fully to God and follow HIS will. Myself, included.
I can only imagine what is going through his families minds. Living with the legacy of such a heinous act of brutality can only be debilitating to those left behind. I truly hope that this does not set a precedent for the future in this teetering country.
Virginia Tech shooter Cho Seung had a mental illness. Several years ago, doctors said that he was dangerous to himself. He showed symptoms of mental illness according to his professors and other students. I smell some negligence in this tragedy. Look! He shot two people at 7 am, went out to send some mail, and came back to kill a lot more.
He chose the worst option- Taking the lives of so many people and killing himself. He lost his mind.

Laws need to be strengthed for those who think they have more rights then others; as you say, no matter what has happened we all have a choice to what are next action will be.
I have read a little here and there and what I see through it all is many reached out to him, and he ignored their help. His choice was darkness and it is him that will now face the karma for such a choice. I still have a feeling there is something that has not come to the light yet about this situation. The lingering question being.....what pushed him over the edge?......however whatever it was, it did not excuse the action he took.

We could all learn from these words above but until people are at peace with themselves, the mayhem will continue to flourish. So many people are without self confidence that their choices inflict pain on the rest of us. Good write and I wish all the people who were making wrong choices in vicious acts would read your poem.

This is an excellent work, Eileen, and echoes the shock everyone is feeling.
I haven't comment much on this rampage, for it is so outrageous, words would fail even the strongest heart. Here is the thing. If we have anger against an Asian born, the onus falls back on us as "hate". We are made to feel guilty, after all, the poor boy was sick. We therefore are indulging in a "hate" crime of our own. I say bull. There is justifiable anger and I have plenty. There is no self-responsibility for our actions any more and it isn't even being taught. You mention "self-responsibility" to anyone, and you get the "deer in the headlights" look. We find excuses for our sick behavior. We toss God out regularly in our speech so much so that God is even an excuse. We foster sickness in our advertisements and suggest a pill to cure. When someone goes on a rampage, our excuse is he didn't get the right pill to cure him, or the right therapy. When you plan your PR after you buy your gun, you well know what you are doing and you can't blame it on sickness or a blackout.
You are correct; this young man had a choice. He was logical, cold-blooded, and proud of it, so much so, he send his "press" to CBS and they bought into the BS. You see the sickness all around in our youth. Who are their models for behavior? Where are they learning this is acceptable behavior? Who is enabling this behavior? The "me" generation is manifesting and the picture isn't pretty at all.
Yesterday, in the news, an Islamic youth laughingly beheaded a man with the sanction of his "peaceful" Islamic elders. He was covered in his victims blood, and he was laughing. Who were his models? Who taught him that killing is acceptable and to enjoy it? Everyone is talking and speaking for God, but no one is actually listening.
This country has become so politically correct, our brains have fallen on the floor. We aren't allowed to be angry or rage. We have to "forgive" and "understand," the unforgivable. We see the trash who commit the atrocities portrayed on TV, in the newpapers, giving the "human trash" more than their 15 minutes of fame. Sensationalism about the WRONG things and very little about the victims. Who were they? What were their aspirations? What was their goodness? What was their goals? What about their families? What about the hole left in society because they are no longer here, cut down by a selfish little nothing.
I want to curse, shout and scream along with you, though you've done a much nicer job of it. It is why I write my BS blog at AD. I actually think I can make a difference to the indifference. Would that we could.

While Debtors prisons no longer exist, many people continue to be persecuted for crimes related to poverty or inability to repay money owed to municipalities. This practice remains in an injustice that needs to be rectified.
