I plead with philanthropy to show its face
Make friends again with the human race
I invite integrity to come forth
Find a place in this world of froth
I request respect to make itself known
It has been missing it needs to be shown
I appeal to agreement to show itself
It does no good in a book on a shelf
I call on compassion to give its share
Many hurting people are in need of care
I wonder when crass and crude became cool
When NOT being foulmouthed made one a fool
When demeaning peoples faith sounded smart
When envy gave one the right to tear others apart
When exploiting others frailties made one smirk
Not understanding that the perpetrator is the jerk
When assuming that rights only apply to you
Because you have more intelligence know what to do
Forgetting the fact that pompous asses always lose
Become laden with guilt losing their inflated egos!
What a resolution here. Your heart shines! If only people cared anymore about anything except themselves. There's still some, i'm sure of it, they're just harder to find. Seems that fear has rendered too many sub-human. This would be a good banner to fly over every home Eileen. I wonder, though, if anyone would take the time to look up and understand.

my heart wants to believe yes, it will be a new year, 2009 -- my pragmatic side says, change will only come from us, the people of the earth, not from the politicos -- socialism in D.C. will certainly not make things better for the citizens of America -- all of the corrupt faces of a past presidency are returning as trusted advisors and seers - can the plan and the politics be any different? --so while I will continue to hope, I will not be devastated when the change does not come from D.C. -- you and I, folks of the den, and the rest of mankind will have to foster the changes we all know need to be made for the sake of humanity -- so in 2009 each one of us must "talk the talk and walk the walk" -- may peace, love, compassion and joy be the pervasive mien of every person -- JMW
