Eileen you have hammered this nail squarely on the head -- our Congress has spent more than $2 trillion dollars of Social Security money alone, on ear marks and left the fund with worthless Congressional I.O.U.'s - our Congress issued more than 26,000 visas to foreign nationals last year for jobs that displaced 26,000 Americans in the banking industry alone -- they have been averaging about 1.5 million visas a year to foreign workers -- wonder why Americans (24 million) are out of work and can't find jobs to pay their mortgages? - Congress has the credibility of the serpents of which you speak -- unfortunately, our new president was a party to all of this when he was a senator --piling up many tens of millions in ear marks himself -- I wonder if anyone in our federal government is willing to perform their job with their constituents best interest at heart -- bigger government as is being advocated with the current stimulus package is something I feel our nation cannot afford -- we need less government and more money in the pockets of U.S. citizens -- JMW

"Ass" is not such a bad word to spell out, especially when it precedes a powerful editorial poem from a poet of note. It would be interesting to see copies of this suddenly appear taped to bus stops in capitol cities around the globe :-)

Please know that it wasn't Pres. Obama, I wrote about ,nor in fact his administration,they haven't been in long enough for that. It is the congress and especially the ones that have been there for years, that continue to think only of themselves and never the people who elect them.They know who they are!

Well, I think everything takes time to fix. America is not the only country that needs fixing. There are many people out of a job too in Canada. I think what we need to do is to be patient and don't expect changes to happen overnight, after all...America has been in deep shit for many years!

Eileen you sure kicked a bucket of shit, but thats been full for a long time, long before Obama, those fatcat bankers and all the other crooks, should be made pay back what they stole, and you veterans on humble pay, should get together and fight the pentagon and the white house to get your monies worth, instead of fighting in foreign lands, I think sadly, it's the states that needs to spred freedom and accountability back to its people. You can say what you want about the french, but the had a very effective means, to route out those malingeres of the public purse or otherwise, it's sharp and efficent, and should sit on the white house lawn, and always ready for use, I probably would have been inclined to pick quite a few of the last administration that could have filled that bucket. I can understand this poem and relate to the feelings of every tax payer in this country. Needless to say this country is in deep hot water. I honestly believe we are in the mist of a battle of poverty and depression in the fore front of every American's door. With all the people losing their jobs, homes, etc... How do they plan to get these monies to bring us out of this defecit.

There is no word such as "ethics" on capitol hill, nor do lawyers anywhere ever use or understand the use of the word...Did we as a people elect the wrong man(?) well I would rather give the guy a bit more time before passing judgement...but it sure don't look too good, our future...Ed (I will withold Ruffies opinion cause it has too many expletives for the general audience herein)

Agree: send this to Washington DC, send this to the newspapers. Heartbreaking, indeed: saw that Obama limited CEO's pay to $500,000.00 (five hundred thousand) dollars. Awwwww. Poor guys can't live on that. Let 'em live on what I make: $240.00 a month! And I'm a Veteran!! "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!" Better than that, let them live on Karen's income: ZERO!!! Not a penny.
