there was a little lady
that had a little gout
in her right hand fingers
that caused her to pout
but guess what she found out

when she broke the middle finger
opening a window that was stuck
the gout  showed in the xrays
it had eaten her knuckle bone away
her banging , broke it the rest of way

Now  surgery is needed,what a bore
can hardly write her poetry anymore
too much of a bother with the pain
sits watching tv until she snores
but  something.s rattling in her brain

she's seeing goutbugs eating her bones
so far the doc hasn't said what to do
she has to see another hand specialist
so she's making up her own lengthy list
why was she never told of bone eaters
she's been taking gout medicine for years
now she'll hold in check her fears
hope the gout bugs haven't got ears
ask her poet friends for a few prayers
