Thank God for our Veterans
we should pray for them each day
they fought in all the wars that
could have taken our freedom away
we forget what our brave warriors do
all the hardships of war they go through
even in peace time they must maintain
the dicipline of readiness,and being
away from home, May God bless them,and
meet their needs,whatever they may be
and keep them in His loving care throughout
eternity...

Amen, Eileen, Amen. The Ministry of Defence owns vast swathes of my beautiful coastline and heathland close to me here in Dorset. I shudder to think so many can be literally "with" me in the middle of this beautiful world one day... and in God knows where doing God knows what the next. It warps my brain. May WE always know who and why they serve - and be grateful. xx
Amen. I didn't comment or write a poem this year. I hate to "have" do do this or that on this or that special day. I understand it, but I still don't like it. I keep the faith in my heart for the veterans and the ones doing the fighting now. I know it and everyone who know it knows it. I liked this very much.
Thank YOU for honoring those who serve(d), in war and in peacetime. You are so right, Eileen. We need to remember, today and every day. Lest we forget ... I second that and add, AMEN. Well done.
