An entire village hundreds of homes etc reduced to rubble

Poem Artwork

There are Caverns where Crystal hangs
from ceilings, in various shapes and sizes
delighting the eye,stunning the senses
with their mysterious beauty

There are waterfalls that cascade down
huge mountains,taking our breath away
as they dance and skip over the terrain
in their torrential display of power

There are Earthquake's and Tsunami's
so devastatingly brutal, they kill,maim,
and destroy,in a matter of minutes, all
they touch reduced to waste, while we
watch in agonizing awe

Yet...

Mankind is helpless, and has no say in
the matter, we are humbled by our inability
to stop it,  we can only pray to our Creator
until it is over, then we can help to clean it up ...

So very, very true. Some countries don't seem right for Man to live in. I guess easy to say in a country that thus far does not have life threatening natural disasters hanging like the sword of Damocles.

What a wonder people they are. No raping, looting, shooting, violence, as we saw with Haiti and New Orleans.

It does make you think what's next. Long Mile island was the fear years ago when I was just a lad.

Could we be using technology that we are not ready, nor mature enough to use yet?

This just seems overwhelming, like London in the 40's.

We can learn not to build where nature ravishes but we cannot avoid all disasters. It is time that we start thinking about how we are treating the Earth before the Earth strikes back.

Let us join hands, in unity, and remember... there is power in numbers and prayer can heal all wounds. Life is temporary and every minute counts.

God bless you, sweet friend.

Big love 'n hugs~

All we can is pray like you say...we can only pray.
This has been a horrid year...my home town was flooded (Ipswich)
then our neighbours New zealand crashed by Eathquake...now Japan...
I fear the worst is yet to come but we are the lucky ones Eileen...Faith in a higher Power is such a comfort.

when we surrender the idea of being in "control" and allow the knowing of helpless and everything is "what is" we shall find incredible peace...believe you are in the right time and place and even if a disaster strikes...so what? we are infinite eternal beings...no worries ;)

I am blessed to be writing straight after Gene who articulates my heartfelt pain exactly. One tragedy on top of another is rocking our planet and at last we are beginning to realise this is no storm in a teacup. I live only a quarter of a mile inland and only 9 metres about sea level myself. Purbeck is sorrounded by water. Yet I am free to choose and I choose... the beauty of the natural world which it is my privilege to be able to inhabit. I am completely at her disposal. The thought is humbling indeed. My mind cannot take in what it is to lose over 10,000 souls in one immense wave. May our spirits speak what is otherwise unutterable to somehow soothe this immeasureable grief. xx

Thomas Wolfe once wrote that there's no knowing what knowing
is until you know what knowing is like. Sadly, today, my
thoghts are with the Japanese people who know precisely what
the horror of knowing is like.

Eileen, your perspective is absolutely right on. We are children going around on the merry-go round of life. Our Creator built the operator and runs it. We are a captive audience. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Japanese people in their hour of need. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
