Southern Comfort has inspired me to write this today, hope you don't mind SC. Every child brought into this world deserves to be loved and wanted. If you are bringing a child into this world and you know you don't want it, show this innocent babe how much you really cared by giving it to someone else to love. Children are a blessing, a gift to be loved and cherished.

Children Are A Blessing
October 15,2008
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

Hold them and kiss them,
Gently & carefully in your arms,
Pamper them forever,
Spoil them with your charms.

Show them they are needed,
This precious gift you’re given,
Show them everyday in everyway,
Through the life that they are living.

Tell them they are beautiful,
They are the sparkle in your eye.
Tell them how much you love them,
they are your every joy.

Tell to them a story,
you needed them to fill your heart,
The happiness they’ve given you,
From the very start.

How your house was dark and lonely,
Until they came into your home.
Filling it with happiness,
The pride they give to you alone.

They are your sun that shines each day,
Your pleasant dreams at night,
Your reason for the life you have,

With them in it all things are right.

You will always be there for them,
Always be there protecting,
Because you were given this precious gift,
ALL CHILDREN ARE A  BLESSING.

A mother's love last beyond her lifetime. Second poem today to make me think about that. Children who have that in lieu of material gifts, who have the gift of good parents who are attentive, and generous with their time, and firm, raise the best babies in the world. Sometimes it is not always the way we want it to be, but I am glad you are so blessed with a poet's heart to express how dear children are to you as parent. Maybe if more children had that kind of positive realization early on in their lives, then the world would be a better place to live. --- Rockie

Even with Fee's blessings, I am with you all the way, children "are" a blessing or Jesus wouldn't had said "let the children come to me"

When I was born my dad didn't come to the hospital to see me and my mother. Luckily, I was raised by my grandparents until I was about 7 years old, I was loved by my grandfather, who had given me a special name: "Lucky Star", and I had a happy early childhood even though I wasn't with my parents.

Yes, I agree with you, if you don't want the child, and you have brought it into the world, the least you can do for the child is to give it to a somebody whom you're sure would love the child!!!

I'm lucky I was connected with my parents later on in my life after my grandfather passed away, and my parents and I really get to love one another after they moved to Canada; so I don't think I have missed out on anything material-wise. But after moving home, I remember my brother always hit me, but nobody really did anything to punish him, because he was a boy and I was a girl!!! Once he hit me with a die cast toy and landed on the bridge of my nose next to my eye, and swelled up and blood was pouring out. I was crying loudly. My mother walked by, asked me what was wrong, I told her my brother hit me with a die cast toy, and she just simply said, "Taihong, don't do it!", and then walked away without tending to my wounds. I had somehow eventually stopped crying on my own, but my nose was still bleeding and then it eventually dried up on its own too!!!!!

I'm having mixed feelings about having unwanted children, I can't help it. But I'm glad I have all my children, and I would NEVER NEVER TRREAT MINE UNFAIRLY, for they are all my children!!!!!

Sandie Angel :o(

P.S. Guess what, that brother the family loved most, who was showered with all kinds of good things and toys, was the one who became the worst in the family. Neither him nor his wife came to our parents' funeral!!! What a disappointment that was!!!
