Rose darlin, this is a magnificent write. We as Canadians welcome the new president. Now all everyone has to do now is take a deep breath and give him a chance to breathe as well, and a time to settle in and figure out what he has gotten himself into. Obama doesn't know the challenge he has facing him but will quickly figure it out. God Bless him and guide him.

Thanks Rose. I feel we are starting a new journey in this country .Its one thats filled with hope and optimism that we'll move forward to become better and more solvent. Our new president has taken on a tremendous challenage and I pray he will succeed in his goals with the help of all of us. He's off to a great start!......M

Truly the nation has responded in such a celebration and I just pray the celebration continues as changes happen....it will take time.

Well as Canadians we are known for our hospitality and our good manners, so when we welcome the President we welcome him first as the leader of your country, as an ambassador, and as a representative between two countries who have been traditional allies for a very long time. No and I mean "NO" President or for that matter Prime MInister will ever please all of the people all of the time, that being said even as an old hippy I prefer to wait and see if his deeds live up to his words, but I welcome him to Canada as I welcome all our friends from the USA. Great write Rose.

Personally, I wish you COULD keep him Rose. He hasn't shown us a darn thing yet except a lot of broken BS promises and the "same old, same old." It's only been a month but already I'm tired of seeing his sick, smiling face everywhere I look. Hopefully, he'll prove me wrong; but I still find I cannot put my trust in this man. I pray to God that I am wrong.

Canada and the U.S. used to be good friends as were the people of Canada but that has eroded and is not that true anymore. Much like England and France.
