I spoke to two elderly friends who are very dear to me, folks I knew in Ottawa. It was reaslly nice to hear their voices again.

There you are, on my Mind
December 16, 2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

I spoke to them today
A piece of my past was on my mind,
A smile I haven’t smiled in a while,
As I heard the familiar voices say,
We miss you, it has been too long,
We look for you but you aren’t there.

I realized I miss them too,
They are aging gracefully,
In their early seventies, still in love.
Still with clear minds,
Still wanting to hear from me,
Friends, who will always be friends.

A precious piece of my past,
That will always be my present and future,
People who have accepted me for me,
People looking at me a someone special,
Friends, dearest of friends,
Missing me as I am missing them.

If this is your neighbors in Ottawa you are referring to I can see why you miss them...I had the pleasure of only spending a short visit with them and thought they were great people.

Very sweet words for long moved, far away friends. But why do you refer that people in their early seventies should be anything but clear of mind... Me, I'm... uh... what was I saying? Oh, yeah! Me, I'm seventy-five and I still have a, uh...? What was I... Oh, yeah, I still have a clear mind.
