I have found that it is alot easier to think about what I want to say to someone than regret it for the rest of my life. So many people dont do this. they get angry and spout off before engaging the brain. It is easy to forgive but so hard to forget. Well done Rose.

your poem reaches deeply to understand Rose & it does...healing is
always essential, BUT crucial is it for us to know women typically "implode" and men "explode" each has a consequence... It is utterly important for emotional health to not "implode" keeping things
locked inside us is like a pressure cooker needing to vent &
it will vent! Either in headaches, backaches...depression...hoards
of issues can arise...worse case scenario is violence.
I hope all the love embraces everyone to a better place.
Its a shame anyone can be nicer to strangers over those they love.
It hurts allot...

It is so sad when families are torn apart in the rawness of words. My prayer is that healing begins to happen and love flows again.

You of all the people I know deserve better, Rose, and I'm sorry to hear of this pain and anguish. You speak for most of us here when you talk about family strife and bickering and the spoken hurtful words that can't be unspoken but only forgiven in time. The tongue can be the ugliest organ in the body.

Blessed are the peacemakers, Rose, and never more so than those who exist within the close confines and space of family where it is often the HARDEST place to resolve issues, to give in, to show the humility to back down and to confess, of course, what always remains (hopefully!) true, that we still LOVE one another - bottom line.

May your vacation clear your head and your heart and not be spoiled with current hurt and pain. And may you be blessed to return to resolution and renewed bonds that are remade even stronger than before. You always lay your heart on the line and never shrink back from confessing hurt. Hi Rose, I have seen anger with members of my own family. People sometimes say things off the top of there heads that can never be taken back. This results sometimes of a life time of hurt. As always this writing was superb.

I know all too well of family problems; oldest sister doesn't want to have anything to do with twin sis and I ... our family has never been close as it is. Pray for us as well! :(

Words spoken in anger can flow so easily, but once said cannot always be forgotten or forgiven. Through the years of my marriage, my wife's words were hurtled at me with such verbal violence and hatred that caused me to, sometimes, respond in kind so that now, even six years after her death, I still remember and so I refuse to allow myself to enter into an argument. With my lady friend, with Bonnie I simply will not argue. Life now is too short to spend time hurtling hurtful words and I truly feel that so much simply is not worth it.

I understand your pain, Rose. I am from a family of seven children and we couldn't be more different. But age has brought me wisdom...now I "celebrate" our differences rather than criticize them because they're not like me.....sadly we don't all do that. Have a wonderful vacation, Rose.....

Your words in this one are so true cuz, for as you know I have had my share of ins and outs with family. Sadly for some the loss of loved ones often brings out the worst in them...bitterness, jealousy, a sense of betrayal...and the need to lay blame or attack others in the family. Our family also had our share of squabbles but as we got older I think we came to realize (partly by the bad examples set by others in the family and you know who I mean) that no matter what we couldn't hold grudges anymore...life was just too short and you never know who will be called up next.
Love you cuz and have a great vacation see you when you return...
