Christmas is Close by

I feel the air is changing,
It's a lot cooler now than before.
I have to wear my warm clothes,
Before I go out through the door

I woke to snow this morning,
It covered all the ground.
I though howt it looked so pretty,
But I never uttered a sound.

Some people in my house,
Don't  want to see it now.
I know if I mentioned it,
They'd be sure to lift a brow.

But folks Christmas is close by,
An exciting time of the year.
Decorating the tree & baking,
Bringing family so much cheer.

Some don't want to think of gifts,
The time it takes & the outragious cost.
How can they really get through it,
With little money, they're at a lost.

Giving isn't just about money, 
It's what you give from your heart.
Helping others in different ways,
Is the very best way for us to start.

Yes Christmas is close by I know,
Visit those in the Hospital all alone.
They would love your company,
That wouldn't make them think of home.

So don't think of this special time,
As a burden to your pocket book.
Think of those less fortunate,
Will give you a better outlook.

I bake things for the seniors home,
I see the smiles that they give to me.
Fill someones Christmas wish,
Pick a tag or two of the tree.

I know it makes my heart glow,
As I help others when I can.
Run an errand or babysit for free,
Help each woman, child or man.

It's the smallest things you make,
To bring others so much Joy on this day.
It doesn't have to cost you money,
To do something special in any way.
