I heard two owls
Hooting furiously
Last night atop the hill.
What a conversation they were having!
I wish
I could have understood them.
Were they having a lovers spat?
Or were they divvying up
The killing field?
Wise birds, these raptors,
To discuss
And resolve
Their differences
Without mutual bloodshed.
We can learn much from our feathered and furry friends, Rebecca! Oh, if life were only that way...*sighhhh* Very well penned, brava!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(
This reminds me of the time I was awakened by the hooting of an owl one early morning before school; he was right outside my window, a big great horned owl! Magnificent specimen! I didn't need the alarm clock THAT morning! :) (I was still in high school then.)

A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
well written Rebecca...
