I am conflicted.
Since meeting you
I find myself awakening
From a long sleep,
My body and mind
Filling with wants
And needs
That I haven't allowed myself
To feel in years,
And which
I have every intention
Of exploring
When we are
At long last
Together.
Yet,
I carry
A spiritual obligation
For I am,
Or soon will be,
A minister in training,
And the church would frown
If they knew
About this double life
I am leading.
Soon I will need
To make a choice,
But not yet,
Please, God,
Not yet.
awwwww, some's falling! The heart fills with conflicting emotions, but did God ever say love was wrong? Tis normal that the heart finds aonther in need of joy, who of us can resist? Like Karla said, follow your heart.

A well written poem.Whatever decision that you make,then it should feel right to you and not to the church or anybody else.You are the author of your own life and you decide what you want to write in it with the pages that are being presented to you.Regis made a great point in terms of church leaders doing far more bad things.I swear they are a bunch of hypocrites.I hope you take the advice from everyone here that has responded to your poem and do what is best for you.Remember you are special and you deserve to be happy and live life to the fulliest.Don't let anybody take that privelge away from you.Take good care of yourself
The shape of this poem makes me think of something that is ready to break in the middle. The point that has to find balance for each conflicting force.
But some obstacles are created by our own minds and fears. I agree with Regis on this point.
