Changes are funny things,
Some come quickly
While some
Come much more slowly,
Yet I resist them
Just the same.
The funniest thing is,
More often than not,
Only supreme good
Comes from each deviation
From my path,
So why do I insist
Upon struggling so?
Right now
I am entrenched
In momentous change
And I know
It is all
For my own good,
That,
Quite possibly,
My very life
Depends upon
My embracing it.
I only make myself
More miserable
By fighting the inevitable,
Yet I fight on!
How far in life
Would I go
If I could only channel
All this ferocious stubborness
Into more rewarding pursuits?
