A cool and rainy day
Is on tap
But I will spend it
Inside my cozy home,
Perhaps snuggled beneath
My favorite throw,
With a mug
Of hot spiced cider
Warming my hands,
A cat or two
Curled upon my lap,
And my dogs
Lying on the rug
Close by.
Though my bones
May protest the weather
I enjoy
These wet autumnal days
For I know
They are the prelude
To the clear, crisp air
And brilliant colors
That invigorate me.
