On the one hand..domesticity in it's purest form
Holds the foundation of all that makes us human
Does that mean that, as women, we are only consigned
To do the laundry, dishes and bear children?
Education, realization..self evaluation
Allow the evolvement to higher levels of enlightenment
Yet, today's society has demanded that it takes
Two or more incomes, to support a family
Thereby, thrusting women into a competitive work force
Forcing a duality in their roles
I know of no, superwoman...we may get close
But ‘burn out' eventually takes it's toll
Nature dictates that women be the more gentile
Perhaps it helps to review the history and intent of the feminin creation
Being of Christian, oriented background,
This is what I must use as a base
Now, there are women, biblically, that are strong of character
Of equal inteligence....that are uplifted to canonization
Due to their faith and obedience to the laws of a male personified,God
They are still respected and protected, as women, in a mans world
On the other hand...what happens to the woman
That never learns to do anything beyond duties of the domestic housewife?
What if her man dies? Goes away?
Leaving her with nothing, no way to fend for herself
Perhaps charity. Placing her burden on society
Or worse...possibly leaving a family behind,..broken and bewildered
Setting a precedent for the future posterity
*"There-by, reducing the surplus population..."
You see, we have tipped the scales and lent ourselves
To an imbalance that we were not created to tolerate.
Our equalities are much more limited
And our expectations are blown out of the proportion of reality
The ambiance of being more like a man
Competing in the male market
Giving responsiblities of home and hearth, over to another woman. (As caretaker)
So that she can assume your life, and responsibilities
Do I say, women should not work?
Absolutely not, nor should they stifle their creativity or education
What I am saying is..Women are now, more than ever in history
Losing site of their femininity.
You've got to be one way or the other...etc..
There should be a balance..a respect between the sexes
A mutual understanding of eachothers expectations and limitations.
And a regard for what that would bring or take away from a relationship
Are you aware that there are fewer and fewer children born
And more down syndrome or miscarriages, these days?
Because of the feminist agenda....not the equal rights initiative
Women are waiting til their late thirties and forties to have children...and persue careers
Our bodies were designed and adapted for child birth at relatively young ages
The older we get, the chances we take
Not only with those potential souls
But ourselves, as well
I've been both......wife/mother and working woman
I was blessed in the beginning to have been able to work at home with my children
Although, I will admit a modicum of bitterness for having to give up much of ‘me'
I didn't realize, so young, that I could have probably done more
Do you suppose a woman is weak?
Try 9 to 30 hours of labor,
To push forth something the size of a watermelon
Out of something the size of (at best) a good sized carrot
Yet, with all of that....being a woman, in every aspect of the terminology
Is the height of giving...
The breadth of joy...
And the depth of fulfillment....with the right partner.
And it's pretty cool to be a goddess of any order!
*this is, ofcourse..only the view from my vantage point.

I find nothing wrong in a man doing housework. I am occasionally a domestic engineer. :-) And I can cook, sew, wash, and dirty the house which is more fun ;-)

Wow well writen and LQQK how emotve lol .... im from the old school im afraid .... open doors and think a woman should have time to be with the kids .... A cereer after if she would like yep for sure .... But to suit family needs ...they have to come first .... we work to live not live to work .... j

I think several good points have been raised,
one I would like to raise is the mans role,
I think a number of relationships break down because men are no longer being trained in their correct role as providers.
The fact that they are not conditioned in that role,means that when the woman stops working,they find themselves in a situation they can not handle,and in some cases try to relieve them selves of that responsibilty.
When their one objective in life should be to the provision of their families welfare.
The fact that certain women advocate a genderless society seems to exacerbate the situation even further, were men are now adopting a could not care less attitude to the welfare of women, this can hardy be described as a desirable situation,for women by any standard,and would appear to leave a large group of women vunerable in order to satisfy the capricious dictates of a small group of selfish women who put their own greed,before the well being of women in general.
If women really want 100% social freedom, then they have to except also a 100%
social responsiblty to that society,in their share of duties to protect it.
with all the implications that it entails.
to my knowledge men have never advocated that role for women,and I would doubt if many would be in favour of it.

What may surprise her is the fact the average housewife can do a 101 jobs equally as well,with no claim to fame,maybe if she had stayed married long enough she may have found that factor out.

i agree 100% Krissy, and with Eileen, i am a liberated woman, that is all i have ever claimed to be,this word feminist has only come from one person and he seems a little obsessed with it, but i'm obsessed with pizza so i can relate.i am 100% woman and the fact that i can change a tire does not change that. truth be known, i call AAA, i don't like to get dirty, but i could if i had to and that is what is vital to every person, not just women. know that you can survive, no matter what the situation, you can't ever depend on another person for all your needs, even if they want to be there, it isn't always possible. krissy, you are as always, right on.
I agree for the most part, I broke from the feminest movement when they decided to go genderless...sorry folks but I like being a woman, and I have owned a restaurant raised children and grandchildren and worked throughout and never felt cheated or subservient to anyone or anything. I opt for independence and believe it is the only way to go . I cannot abide women who act like a bunch of lemmings following the likes of a Gloria Steinem or Molly Yard or any of them over a cliff. Be your own person and do what you know in your heart is right. In the O.T. of the Bible (Judges chapter 4 -5 ) A Woman Deborah a judge went into battle with a man Barak and another woman Jael killed an enemy leader , to help win a war. read about it women didn't just become independent in the modern age. In fact I think we have regressed...
