A haunting tale...filled with pain. I would listen to the tales and be compassionate...for even walls need a friend. A beautifully written poem, La Belle. Lydia
time lines have always fascinated me, could it be our present can affect the past? anyway...this poem is haunting and sad, do not the walls also hold happiness?
As soon as I saw the picture, it instantly pulled from my memory DARK SHADOWS and Barnabus Collins, the vampire coming down from those stairs...erotic cantor, yes, I would love to hear the monologue, especially the erotic words sensuous characters speak...it thrills me to hear those seductive words...I only want to hear pillow talk, not harsh words, but whispers of lust.....Belle, If Walls Could Talk, what would I hear in your boudoir??? Shhhhh...
I have been in homes with staircases as in your beautiful photograph! A lovely well thought piece, makes me wonder sometimes as you say "if walls could talk" what secrets would they reveal.....

They do, energy imprints are always there, it takes an acute sensory system to pick up on them. I can do this, not all the time, but definitely I can feel the past pain, joy any intense energy.
Sometimes it is quite eerie, and It is sometimes too much to bear.

If walls COULD talk, yes, we'd hear pain, but what a thrill to be able to hear the laughter and love, again. I'd give anything to hear those wonderful moments of days gone by.

Interesting concept, walls talking, and although not original the gist of your poem is. Would we really want to hear what the walls would say to us? Maybe if we could listen we might be able to adjust our lives and become better for it, but alas and drat, most of us wouldn't. We'd hear what the wall had to say, stick our iPod back into our ears and go along our merry unassuming and non-listening way . . .
Interesting idea and poem for you. I wonder where you were that inspired it. I only wish walls could play back some of the thousands of piano improvisations I have sent off in a heart beat to them (and my two cats) when there was no way to record. But that's another story of mine, not yours. Nice idea well versed.
