Interesting. It is true though that the perfect view of people was and is still written by those in charge who present what they want our children to believe.

In spite of the lies humans have been bombarded with the evolution of man has continued. There is something within the human soul that from time-to-time and time-and-time again informs the spirit that a lie is not the truth. Indeed, "Truth crushed to earth shall {and it does} rise again," as the poet William Cullen Bryant declared. But how much more advanced the human race would be today if history had not been distorted and at times prostituted. Thank you Ron for reminding us of the truth about a lie, numerous lies. In doing this you have added to the consciousness hidden truths within truths and within scrutinized lies.

I agree with you Ron. We are told a lot of lies today. I've always believed that there is more to History than I learned at school. History fascinates me and I try to dig deeper. As always, the wow factor is tagged in all your poetry. Kudos!

People tend to interpret the story to work to there advantage, I've suffered, I've conquered. The only truth may be in where it all stands now. Apparently we have a hard time not repeating the same stories. Until something unique happens I guess we can count on the seven deadly sins as the basis for most stories. I don't want to go back in history, love to read it though.

Very well written. History is always written by the victors, and those in power. they never let the facts get in the way. That being said, we all see the truth through our own eyes and experiences.

Cowboys always fights the injun in the movies, and most children learn it that way. History could be misleading, 'coz we weren't there to witness anyway. But I agree, like Jude has said, history is "his story" told to others, and then others... all past down through generations, and then it becomes "History".

manifest...making the pulse quicken...filed with words of disappointment...punitive attitudes...incompetence...failed obligations...important errands neglected to run...and all
other un-pleasantness created by...people for people...during
the modern history...
Still..despite of an individual's motivation...community's
effort...nation's growth...messes continue to happen...now

As I'm typing this reply...look out the window...see boats
passing by...blue sky...on a beautiful sunny Autumn morning.
Still...what a cheerful day it is outside...filling me
with so much awe and wonder...and energy to face the day's
challenges...with enthusiasm...hope and love...

Maybe take a leisure stroll through local Cemetery...that
often helps...to gain a new perspective...sort things
out...figure out small tweaks...heal wounds...
Still...for now...that's life...distorted truth in the East
and West...to the right and left hand sides... experienced
equally by the disheartened...on the top...in any color...
as well as the enthusiastic on the bottom...those in a position
of power...and privilege over others...dividing society
by "doing enough and good"...There may be point past which
the "enough and good" becomes to much...of distraction...

Absolutely agree Ron...as a child I always felt so sorry for the Natve American Indians In Westerns ..but I loved their 'two tone' horses and the odd look into their reservations...it's unbelievable how so called 'history' has got away with this distortion and propaganda for so long...glad you've tackled this subject...

I just returned home from the hospital where they cleansed by blood from a lot of impurities by injecting massive amounts of liquid cleansers into my blood steam, and then they relied on the cleansing action of my kidneys and liver to purge the bad stuff out. I simply peed it away into the sewage lines to oblivion. I feel much better from the experience. It's too bad we don't have a similar cleansing procedure for the mind to rid it of ugly impurities deposited there by propagandists, religionists, fakirs, and other snake oil salesmen. Evolution and poetry take so damned long! But thanks for trying, Ron.

The legacy will be one of irony: how could a species with such potential squander their mind/heart partnership on buying into not only lies, but proselytizing additional fantasy-imagined clerical nonsense. Yeah...we are the chosen...what? Accepting the idea to think for one self is the next endangered principal...rapidly disintegrating like an Arctic ice shelf.

Yes, it is a wonder that we all survived. Hopefully survival will be the legacy we leave.
