when may i rest at last, when may i sleep?
my head cradled by a pillow of peace
on a soft bed of cotton white clouds
nestled ‘neath a warm coverlet of stars
let me sail deep seas of forgetfulness
lulled by gentle waves of acceptance
on a swift sloop flaunting lapis blue sails
her cargo hold laden with prenatal dreams
their cries yet unheard in time’s womb
this land holds no fascination now for me
my feet bloody, wearied with rocky paths
my heart grown tired of lonely roads
and broken promises littering waysides
no need for a sea trunk, i’ll travel light
when will i lay down loads and this poet’s pen
though when i wake i pick up the pen again
to write on other shores with new ink?
sleep blessed sleep cover well my eyes
with the dew of your serene kisses
close them tight to all former sorrows
wake me with gilded dawn of forever
where indigo shadows melt ‘neath ginger sun
and love waits for me again with open arms
Very emotional, moved me from sadness and utter dispair to God's heavenly light and sweet music from birds to open my eyes to greet the new day with all its mysteries...
Never say "neverMore than once I've found myself tired of one place and that gypsy spirit that most poets' have pipes up with one adventure after another. I just wonder, like you, when it will strike me again.

Where love waits...like a piece of wood adrift that came to rest on unfamiliar shores, just for once, waiting there for the next tide or for a hand that will claim ownership and take it home...
O, this is beautifully imaged in illustration and verse - the longing - the needed rest after the bumpy night of life's disappointments (or in our case, a night of storm) - deserving of a much needed break - saving these gorgeous lines to linger in again and again - thank you, La Belle - well done -
